Merchant of venice

Shylock motives are unclear to me because his hate for Christians is clear as glass but really its humorous how he explains to Jessica what to do when she hears the music. really he blows it out of proportions, first with his comment  on the Christians food "but still ill go in hate ,to eat the wasteful Christians food" and then with the don't stick your head out and don't leave any windows open or doors open or unlocked, i don't want their noise in my house.

the relationship between Jessica and Lancelot was a little to pushy to me since he worked really hard to get Shylock to leave the house and soon after she says "a certain christian will come by worth the sight of a Jewess's eye" to me it seems like they are working together but in a unintentional way since Lancelot didn't make much hints at helping her. the conflict between the Jews and the Christians make the play interesting because allot of emotion run through these two ethnic groups, thought the fights do get ugly and make you side with the Jews due to all the abuse they face it still adds flavor to the story.
